because Open Source works.
All of the work that X-Oz has done on , has already been donated and fully integrated into the existing XFree86 codebase.
If you want to try our code, download XFree86 and give it a full work-out.
The code shown here on the site, is just to highlight the work that has already been implemented, for those who would like to develop TinyX, or any of it, further.
- prior to the X-Oz integration, TinyX was a standalone server that had to be built separately.
- it did not take advantage of all the XFree86 services on demand but instead worked only as a "test" server. This was cumbersome and did not allow Tiny X to be deployed as it was originally designed : a small fully capable X-server.
- now as a "build" option you can test, work or develop TinyX as you need on a Small-footprint laptop. At this point we have yet to test it's mobile i.e. Android tabilet capabilities, but that is something that is high on our list.
